According to reports, the bipartisan committee has been concerned about a lack of funding to complete the task, which has slowed its efforts.

Despite both chambers of parliament passing a vote establishing the bipartisan committee in law, the parliamentary commission did not set aside funds to allow the committee to carry out its purpose.

According to the source, the committee hoped to persuade the speaker to set aside a budget for the committee, despite the cost to Kenyan taxpayers still needs to be discovered.

The technical group was scheduled to meet on Wednesday and Friday to review 142 memos before the bipartisan discussions committee meets on Monday to discuss the agreed-upon agenda.

The meeting with the speaker comes amid mounting claims that one branch of the coalition is undermining the discussions, with Azimio One Kenya Coalition party leader Raila Odinga scheduled to make a significant declaration on the way forward.

The discussions team had planned to complete their mission in 60 days, but two weeks had passed with no progress.
