The High Court is set to give a ruling in the case against the Finance Act 2023 on November 24, 2023.

A ruling in the case against the director-general of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), accused of violating the court order in implementing the law, will also be issued on November 24.

This is after the relevant parties presented their arguments in the case opposing the law on Wednesday.

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah filed the contempt case against the EPRA boss.

The DG is accused of acting against a court order that temporarily suspended the implementation of the Finance Act 2023, when EPRA increased the VAT on fuel from 8% to 16% on June 30.
