Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda found himself in a pickle after being heckled by some of his people while defending his frequent travels to the State House.

On Sunday, the MP was attending a burial in East Yimbo Ward when enraged mourners bullied and refused to listen to him when he began explaining why he had been visiting State House against the desires of his ODM party leadership.

The heckling began when he claimed that he was actively working for development with President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza administration and that his visits to State House had started to bear fruit.

Ochanda tried to explain that the reasons that brought him to State House were stalled projects like the Dho Goye Causeway and the upcoming registration of Yala Swamp as communal land, but no one listened.

His constituents repeatedly mocked him as he emphasized some of the benefits his visit to the State House and relationship with the Kenya Kwanza government would offer them.

However, he warned the hecklers to prepare for a giant surprise in the 2027 general elections.

Ochanda, who continued to speak above the din, assured them they would be disappointed since there would be no change in national administration in 2027.

The Bondo MP is one of eight ODM rebels recently expelled by the ODM party leadership for siding with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Ochanda was among the ODM rebels who visited President William Ruto at State House on September 13.

ODM expelled MPs Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Phelix Odiwuor (Lang'ata), and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda were also present.
