Siaya Governor James Orengo has criticized a recent poll that ranked him among the worst-performing governors in development.

Orengo was among those who trailed the list in the ISS Africa-Kenya poll, with 20.2%. On Wednesday, Orengo stated at the County headquarters that his job is immeasurable and that he does not need to rely on "baseless polls" to appear functioning.

He stated that he knows where he wants to take Siaya County in terms of development and that he cannot be forced to bribe any pollster to rate him at any position.

Orengo lambasted his critics, led by Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo, for sullying his name and tarnishing his image in public. He requested that the residents of Siaya ignore them.

The governor stated that his priority is to carry out the mandate for which he was elected and that threats from UDA supporters would not mislead him.

The governor of Siaya dared Odhiambo to resign from the ODM party and run for re-election in Gem instead of criticizing its leadership.

Odhiambo is one of five ODM MPs recently ejected from the party due to their close collaboration with President William Ruto's UDA party and the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Nairobi governor sakaja has also defended himself against the poll after his county was ranked at the bottom. He disputed the polls, claiming his work can be seen across the county. This is after Embakasi East MP called him out, accusing him of corruption.
