Authorities have detained a 34-year-old man at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after he forced his way to the airside and found himself in the wrong aircraft after missing a flight.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Okombo Farah, was scheduled to fly to Mombasa via Kenya Airways flight but failed to board on time.
The drama unfolded at approximately 9:00pm at Terminal 1D departures.
“He later forced entry through Gate 1 and entered the wrong aircraft when the gates were already closed,” read the police report.
The 34-year-old was booked in police custody for the offence of entering a restricted area.
