National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro has slammed Kenya Kwanza leaders for claiming Kenya is a country of shareholders.

Speaking at a meeting in Shinyalu, Osoro said it is now time for leaders to understand that Kenya belongs to everyone, regardless of whether they voted for President William Ruto or the opposition.

" Stop this shareholders issue. All Kenyans are in government and all of us want to be involved in development issues. Honeymoon is over, celebrations are over," Osoro said.

He warned that the time for politics is finished and that all leaders must serve the people without favor or bias.

"Let us stop chest thumping, tell the people the plans we have. For example the teachers we have employed in a year," he added.

Osoro's remarks were echoed by Trade Secretary Moses Kuria, who stated that Kenyans are equal and that the shareholding narrative should be dropped.

The two leaders appear to disagree with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who first proposed the narrative, much to the displeasure of several in the country.

Gachagua stated that individuals who voted for him and Ruto are the largest stockholders in the Kenya Kwanza government and should benefit more than those who did not.
