Spotify has unveiled an innovative AI-driven tool designed to assist podcast creators in translating their content into multiple languages. Powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI), this tool guarantees the preservation of the original speaker's distinctive style across all translated renditions.

Leveraging OpenAI's cutting-edge voice generation technology, the company is dedicated to advancing the worldwide accessibility of podcasts. Initially focusing on English-language episodes, Spotify intends to progressively introduce voice-translated versions in French, German, and Spanish in the coming months.

Users across both Spotify's free and premium tiers will have access to these episodes, with availability in all countries where Spotify is operational.

This cutting-edge voice translation tool is presently in the testing phase with acclaimed podcasters such as Bill Simmons, Dax Shepard, Lex Fridman, Monica Padman, and Steven Bartlett. In due course, select episodes from their existing catalog will be offered in the designated languages.

Additionally, forthcoming episodes from these podcasters will undergo automatic translation, furthering the platform's commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.

The platform has also revealed that Trevor Noah's forthcoming original podcast will integrate this automatic translation tool upon its debut later this year.

Recently, the company has also introduced a new tool called 'Showcase' that enables artists to pay for the promotion of their music directly to listeners on the platform's Home feed.

The showcase feature will enable the artists to feature a specific song or even an entire album as a mobile banner ad, strategically targeting particular types of listeners across 30 markets initially.

The banners will indicate that they are sponsored recommendations.

Artists interested in using Showcase must meet certain eligibility criteria. They need to have accumulated at least 1,000 streams over the past 28 days in one of the available target markets.
