On November 15, Tigania East Member of Parliament and NOPEU party leader, Mpuru Aburi, recorded a statement concerning his contentious remarks about Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza. Simultaneously, the Meru County Assembly has yet again initiated its third ouster motion against the Governor.

Speaking to journalists, Mpuru Aburi vehemently defended himself, asserting that the video clip presented by Mwangaza's lead defense was manipulated to advance a specific agenda. Aburi claimed that Mwangaza's rift with the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) had led to a strained relationship, and he alleged that the video was doctored with the intention of inflaming the emotions of female senators, potentially influencing them to vote against the impeachment debate.

Concurrently, amid these developments, Meru County Assembly Members (MCAs) have initiated a third ouster motion aimed at impeaching the Governor. This move comes merely days after the Senate spared the Governor from impeachment. Notably, this marks the third impeachment motion against the Governor within a short span.

Adding to the complex situation, a concerned voter has submitted a petition urging the Head of State, President William Ruto, to consider suspending the Meru County Assembly.
