Despite not being selected to lead the Wiper party in the general election of 2027, Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper party, has declared that he will remain in the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition.

Kalonzo, who has repeatedly declared that he will not withdraw from his campaign for the top position, says he will stick with the coalition and be committed to keeping it together.

While hinting that the coalition will begin deliberations in 2024 regarding their front-runner, Kalonzo stated that he is in the best position to lead the coalition's field of candidates when it comes time to run for the presidency in 2027.

"The next contest will be defined in 2024. Let us go to the negotiating table and agree between ourselves. I believe in that coalition and I will do anything I can to sustain it," Kalonzo said.

"We cannot wait and begin to huggle at the end. Who is going to be the flagbearer? This has to be settled now."

During a Wednesday interview with Spice FM, he was asked the following questions:

"If it is not you will you leave the coalition?"

Kalonzo answered immediately, saying, "I don't think so; I believe in this coalition." After 2007, now is the right time for Kalonzo to give it another go."

He said he will continue to be adamant in pursuing a second attempt at becoming president, finally after ages.

However, the political atmosphere within the coalition has remained tense due to hints from some leaders that the coalition's leader, Raila Odinga, may be re-nominated as the flagbearer.

As has been his custom in past elections, Kalonzo has pledged that he will not allow anyone to pass him by and has made it clear that failing to get on the ballot would mean he would leave politics.
