Outspoken Mount Kenya politician Francis Gaitho has finally aired out his view following the filing of a case against the Housing Levy by 22 Senators where Mount Kenya senators were missing.
Gaitho, expressing his views on his official X account, expressed surprise at the unprecedented participation of 22 Senators in the petition led by Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah. He hinted that the government's alleged attempts to silence Omtatah could be connected to this notable development.
Gaitho further commented on the absence of any legislator from Mount Kenya among the petitioners. He insinuated that Senators from the region are hesitant to join the petition due to fears of jeopardizing their political positions. He boldly asserted that all Senators from Mount Kenya will face electoral defeat in 2027.

"Not a single Mount Kenya Senator agreed to join the petition for fear of ruffling feathers and losing out on tenders. All of them will go home in 2027." He added.

In the ongoing legal battle, the group of 22 Senators, including prominent figures such as Okiya Omtata, Edwin Sifuna, and Ledama Ole Kina, have contested the Housing Levy collection by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). They argue that KRA should not serve as the collecting agent for the levy.
