Lawyer Edward Githaiga, also known as the Chief Inspiration Officer (CIO) of Africa for the Haiti lobby, has described President William Ruto as one of the most intelligent and level-headed presidents on the African continent.

In an interview with TV 47 on Wednesday, Githaiga highlighted that since assuming office, Ruto has consistently made strategic international moves to elevate the country's standing on the global stage. He emphasized that these efforts are yielding positive results for the nation.

Commenting on President Ruto's support towards Raila Odinga's African Union Commission chairmanship bid, Githaiga said Ruto will deliver the win, since it will be a big milestone for Kenya.

"According to me, President Ruto is the most tactful, intelligent, and the most sober President we have now in Africa. He has calculated moves and that's why you can see all these Western societies and foreigners are interested in him."

"I have no doubt to say that Ruto is taking the country to the right direction," added Githaiga.

He expressed his belief that Ruto's decision to engage with Raila was a strategic masterstroke, noting that there were no leaks or evidence suggesting that the two leaders had engaged in a handshake, unlike the widely publicized event between Raila and former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018. This approach, he suggested, prevented the formation of an opposition within the government.

"I am sure that the opposition is still strong under Ruto's government and even after his meeting with Raila for the AU Commission job."
