Political activist Hanifa Adan has denied recent reports claiming she has joined the Wiper party led by Kalonzo Musyoka. Following social media speculation that she aligned herself with the opposition party, Hanifa clarified in a statement that the claims are false. She emphasized that she has no affiliations with the Azimio opposition coalition or any other political party.
Hanifa explained that her involvement was solely to present an award to former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and not an indication of any political alignment. She further noted that she was unaware the event would include a press conference. However, when asked to speak, she took the opportunity to address Kenyans.
"I was invited by a national community-based organization to present the peace ambassador awards to His Excellency. I didn’t know it would be a press event until after I had spoken. Now, it’s being misinterpreted as though I’m associated with Azimio or any political party, which I am not. During my speech, I highlighted that peace and justice are intertwined, and I called for justice for those who have been killed mercilessly," Hanifa clarified.

The rumors of her joining the opposition stemmed from her appearance at a press conference with leaders at the SKM Centre. She also dismissed claims that Kalonzo had exploited her presence at the event.
In contrast, activist Kasmuel McOure, who previously participated in Gen Z protests, recently announced his official affiliation with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party. After a meeting with ODM chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Kasmuel publicly stated that the party is focused on reviving youth and student leagues nationwide.
Kasmuel encouraged young people to join ODM, describing it as the only pro-people political party in East and Central Africa. “If you want to be part of a true political movement for a fair and democratic Kenya where everyone can live with dignity, consider joining @TheODMparty, the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa!" he stated. He added that they plan to engage both educated and uneducated youth to join their movement, working together for Kenya’s future.
