Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Justin Muturi is on the brink of being fired, claims Belgut MP and National Assembly Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations Chair, Nelson Koech.

Speaking on Citizen TV’s Daybreak, Koech alleged that Muturi has openly challenged President William Ruto through his outspoken criticism of the government, particularly on cases of abductions and extrajudicial killings. Muturi recently took a firm stance against these incidents, directly calling on the President to take action while dismissing threats of his removal from office.

According to Koech, Muturi’s bold remarks amount to defiance against the Head of State.

"I know what is happening politically. He is simply a man daring the president to fire him. He has asked for it, and you will see—within a week or two, CS Muturi will be home. He will be fired," Koech asserted.

Muturi, a former Attorney General, has been vocal about the alarming rise in abductions and killings, warning that they are tarnishing the country’s reputation. Addressing the media on Friday at City Mortuary—where the bodies of two young men abducted in Mlolongo were discovered—Muturi condemned the ongoing disappearances and murders.

"This is murder most foul. It is only fair that, at this point, the country shelves any other business to discuss this matter of abductions and extrajudicial killings," he stated, urging immediate investigations into the crisis.

Koech accused Muturi of using the issue for political mileage.

"He has pinched the president’s nose, and I can tell you for sure—he is a man going home. It could even be today," Koech remarked.

Meanwhile, allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have criticized UDA lawmakers, including Defence CS Aden Duale, for demanding Muturi’s resignation. The growing rift within the government continues to spark debate over accountability and the rule of law.
