On Tuesday, February 11, some ODM party lawmakers called for Moses Wetang'ula to step down as the National Assembly Speaker.

Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Nelson Havi has predicted the downfall of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula.

Wetang'ula's situation worsened following a recent ruling by a three-judge bench, which determined he cannot hold the Speaker’s position while serving as a political party official.

Wetang'ula’s position was left uncertain after a three-judge bench ruled he could not serve as the National Assembly Speaker while holding the Ford Kenya party leader role.

Following the resumption of National Assembly proceedings, some members of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party called for his resignation.

Nelson Havi has now hinted that the former Bungoma senator may soon face impeachment as the National Assembly Speaker.

In a tweet on Tuesday, February 11, Havi alleged that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party could soon seek revenge on Wetang'ula following their contentious fallout.

The outspoken lawyer claimed that even members of President William Ruto’s UDA party may not be able to shield the National Assembly Speaker.

The former LSK president hinted that it’s only a matter of days before an impeachment motion against Wetang'ula is presented in parliament.

"ODM will successfully revenge on Moses Wetangula for the noisy and messy divorce proceedings he took her through. This time, the Roman Pope will have no comeback or support from UDA or ANC. It is just but a matter of days," Havi said.
