Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza has faced a major setback after the High Court upheld the Senate’s decision to impeach her, officially removing her from office as the Meru County Governor.
The court ruled that the Senate acted in line with the Constitution when impeaching Mwangaza. Her claims that the process was chaotic were dismissed.
Recently, the High Court judge overseeing Governor Kawira Mwangaza's impeachment petition directed the Director of Criminal Investigations to track down and arrest a Meru resident who disrupted a virtual court session by calling for her removal from office.
