Aisha Jumwa, cabinet secretary for public service, criticized Raila over his remarks about political prostitution.
Speaking at an event in Msalini Jumwa criticized Odinga for calling elected officials "political prostitutes". She argued that this was uncalled for and impolite. The Cabinet Secretary stated that no politician should be penalized for meeting the Head of State.
Jumwa added that no one offended Raila when he shook hands with a sitting president, who was the Former President Uhuru Kenyatta for the first time.

"Calling elected MPs political prostitutes merely because they met Kenya's president is disrespectful. You personally went to shake President Uhuru Kenyatta's hand. What should we call you if those who interact with a sitting president are prostitutes?" asked the Jumwa.
Jumwa is a vocal politician hailing from Kilifi County. She contested a gubernatorial seat for Kilifi County but lost to Gideon Mung'aro, the now-sitting governor. Aisha was a trusted member of ODM, but due to political dynamics, she defected to United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
The ODM lawmakers who recently met with President William Ruto at State House and vowed to back his administration have come under fire from the former prime minister, Raila Odinga.
Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o, Lang'ata member of parliament, was kicked out of the hotel room during an Azimio parliamentary retreat in Machakos. Several ODM lawmakers, including Jalang'o, met with the president.
Odinga referred to the MPs as traitors and accused them of engaging in political Prostitution. He dared the parliamentarians to vacate their seats and ask supporters of president Ruto's party for a new term.
Baba delivered his speech on Thursday, September 9, after certain ODM MPs recently went to the State House without the party's approval to meet with President William Ruto.
He said no one should engage in conflict with one coalition before defecting to join it, which he referred to as Political Prostitution.
