The political heat within the orange democratic movement ODM continues to get hot. The head is about john mbadi's threats to leave the party leadership.
John mbadi was responding to claims by some party members that he was trying to sabotage the party by not attending the rallies that have been going on across the country.in response to the statement, the party leader, raila odinga, said that he does not have any information that mbadi wants to resign, but if that's the case, then party elections will be done this year.
The party leader said that mbadi is justified to react the way he wants and that when he wants to leave, he will inform the azimio leader. John mbadi has been at odds with a section of the ODM leaders since the conclusion of the 2022 general elections.
Last Tuesday, the party vice chair said that raila odinga was aware of where he stands and that the only hurdle is who to hand over the position.

Mbadi said that he is not a person to run away from office before they get good succession. He added that he wants to succeed and still will serve the party in whatever capacity. Some people think being a chair is something he is dying for, but it is far from the truth, adding that he has done his bit.
"I am the chairman of the party and I can't speak against what the party leader says. I will have to resign for me to do that, otherwise, we won't have a party it will be chaos," he said.
After being the party's vice chair for nine years, mbadi says that it is time for fresh blood to come into leadership, adding that he is still a staunch follower of raila odinga and will fully support whoever takes over from him.
