ODM and azimio coalition leader Raila Odinga said that governors from azimio are free to meet with President William ruto but insist that he does not recognize ruto as the President because he was not elected legitimately.
This change of tune comes barely a week after the azimio leader promised disciplinary actions against coalition members who visited the President and his deputy at the statehouse in nairobi.
The azimio leader called the representatives who met with the President traitors of the coalition, calling for their resignation.

In the interview, raila said that they sat down with their governors and that because governors are elected to represent the people, they recognize the existence of a two-tier government. Governors can meet whoever is sitting as President.
"He is working as president because there is no vacuum, but I do not recognize him."
Odinga, however, added that it is optional for the governors to meet with the President for development.
"Governors are okay to meet the person sitting in the position of the President even though I don't recognize the presidency of Ruto". He added that governors do not have to go to the President to have developments.
Gideon ochanda, a Bondo member of parliament, was fired from his position as secretary of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Bondo sub-branch, on Tuesday. In an earlier interview, the MP stated that his visit to Ruto at the State House was not a mistake.
The executive branch committee members met at the ODM offices in Bondo for a meeting presided over by Siaya senator Dr Oburu Oginga. They decided to kick Ochanda out of the party and withdraw his parliamentary sponsorship. However, Ochanda insisted that he did nothing wrong and could not attend a meeting to which he was not invited.
