A section of azimio representatives who met president William Ruto at the state house a few days ago failed to attend the azimio rally in kisii.

The disgruntled mps missed the Gusii rally and instead opted to meet with deputy president Rigathi Gachagua. The Gusii rallies were attended by Azimio principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Muyoka, and Martha Karua, as well as a slew of opposition members and hosted by Simba, arati, the kisii governor.

The mps who attended the meeting with the deputy president include Phelix Odiwuor (Langata), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Paul Abuor (Rongo), and Kisumu Senator Professor Tom Ojienda are among the MPs.

This meeting comes barely a week after the langata mp was expelled from an azimio conference in Machakos for meeting with the president. However, the mp has maintained that he did nothing wrong by meeting the president and therefore has nothing to apologize for.

According to the deputy president, the meeting was about a development priority programme that the mps already have a place. He added that the Kenya Kwanza administration is committed to not leaving anyone behind in development, adding that elections have concluded and Kenyans have moved on.

ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo were among those who attended the meeting.

To deepen their engagement with the government, the seven MPs met separately with Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen and his Education counterpart Ezekiel Machogu.

Last week the orange democratic party started disciplinary proceedings against bondo mp ochanda gideon. Gideon ochanda was removed from his position as the secretary of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Bondo sub-branch.

During a meeting presided over by Siaya senator Dr Oburu Oginga, the executive branch committee participants met at the ODM offices in Bondo. They decided to expel Ochanda from the party, and his parliamentary sponsorship was withdrawn.
