At least ten people have been hospitalized in kisii after members of the Azimio coalition and those from the united democratic alliance clashed in kisii town.

The incident on Saturday left the supporters from both coalitions nursing machete injuries, and they were hospitalized at Kisii teaching and Referral Hospital. While speaking at the hospital where the youths are still being treated, Kisii Governor Simba Arati claimed that security personnel were hesitant to defuse tensions between rival parties.

In his speech, he said that It is unfortunate that people who are breadwinners are now lying in bed here in the hospital, under the full glare of police officers who were supposed to keep law and order. He went on to plead with the interior security cs kithure kindiki to reconcile society, adding that he cannot be fighting people in banditry when you are mushrooming criminals around town protected by police officers.

The governor vowed to use other means to tame what he called an emerging gang used by rival legislators to cause havoc in an attempt to depose him. a witness from the scene of the chaos said that a group of youths stormed boda boda offices behind Kisii Assembly with machetes in what appeared to be a conflict over leadership.

 Kisii Central Deputy OCPD sustained severe injuries while trying to stop the riots between the two groups. In a statement issued Saturday evening, ODM leader Raila Odinga condemned the attacks in Kisii, blaming Kenya Kwanza leaders for inciting the violence.

The azimio leader was in the county hosting rallies to mobilize kenyans against the kenya kwanza regime, which he terms as not legitimate. Raila has called for ruto to resign because he was not elected relatively. he claims he won the election by over 2 million votes.
