The jubilee party is set to hold the national congress in march, and kioni says that members who shifted their alliance from the azimio coalition to the ruling party will be punished. Last week the registrar of political parties denied kanini kega's request for the party to withdraw from the azimio la Umoja coalition.

Jubilee legislators termed rebels have declared their support for the kenya kwanza government, promising to work with president William ruto and his deputy rigathi for the betterment of their constituencies.

Azimo la Umoja leader raila odinga has condemned those politicians defecting from the coalition, terming it as political prostitution. Raila urged the ODM MPs who had abandoned Azimio and all other parties to step down and formally seek a mandate from the people in a speech on Thursday in Machakos. He claims that such politicians were selected to lead parties at the time by Azimio and should have left or joined the government with the electorate's consent.

The Azimio coalition's defectors, according to the Azimio leader, must resign and leave. He also stated that the days of MPs going to see "mtukufu," Nyayo are over.
