President William Ruto has urged Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya to repay him by supporting the Kenya kwanza administration rather than planning rallies.
In Migori on Saturday, President Ruto urged Odinga to cancel the planned anti-government demonstration as a token of appreciation for the sacrifices he made on his behalf to win the nation's top office in 2007.
The Head of State recounted how he supported Odinga through difficult moments in his political career, notably when the International Criminal Court prosecuted him in The Hague due to the violence that followed the 2007–2008 elections.
"I went through a lot because of him" (Odinga). While I'm in Nyanza, I'm requesting Odinga. Don't be too loud. I backed you and gave you my vote when I was brought to the Hague. Your moment to repay the favour is now. As the audience cheered, Ruto said, "He said.

Ruto advised Odinga to vote for him to serve a second term in 2027 rather than arrange large-scale protests against his administration to "balance things out."
He said Nyanza would not be excluded from the development programs.
The Head of State vowed that he would not permit anyone to use politics to drive a wedge between Kenyans and any area of the nation.
Regardless of their political preferences, the state president stated that every Kenyan has a right to equitable access to resources.
"We are done with the polls and all that is left is to prepare for growth," he stated, referring to Kenyans' decision made during the elections in August 2022.
President Ruto promised an inclusive government and stated that he would cooperate with all of the elected officials in Kenya.
He promised to increase funding so that the Nyanza region may be developed similarly to other areas of the nation.
"I'll make sure nobody leads the Nyanza people in a different direction from the ruling party. As with any other Kenyan, you have a right to government services", he stated.
The Head of State committed to taking deliberate steps to unite Kenyans, so they could face all difficulties as a single nation.
President Ruto stated last week on March 19 that he will not engage "anarchists" but is prepared for conversations with leaders interested in fostering national progress.
The President of State reprimanded opposition leader Raila Odinga in Nandi County during an interdenominational church service, accusing him of trying to hold the nation hostage for his political gain.
"If we are talking about our nation's future and destination in a constitutional and lawful manner, I am willing to engage with any leader. Nonetheless, we won't indulge in chaos", the president stated.
"You won't scare us with turmoil, violence, or deadlines. If we give in to demands and turmoil, we will be rewarding impunity. We won't", Ruto insisted.
According to President Ruto, Odinga has no justification for organizing protests.
He claimed that the Azimio leader was merely using mayhem and turmoil to reach a political agreement with the current administration.
"Raila Odinga has no justification for terrorizing the nation with mayhem, protests, and violence. He has no excuse at all. I have tried to listen to him, but to no avail, " remarked Founder Ruto.
"He is expressing to us his lack of faith in the Supreme Court, he does not trust in the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission, but he wants to speak up because he believes in a [nameless] whistleblower. scare the country with chaos and bloodshed," the source said.
