Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, is currently urging the Kamba community to put an end to the biweekly anti-government demonstrations that he views as cowardly.

On Wednesday in Makueni, Musyoka said Kamba people should act like Luo if they want to effectively support a presidential candidate in the future. Musyoka was speaking at the burial of Machakos businessman and longtime ally Pius Musembi.

Kalonzo told Kamba people to behave like Luos and avoid displaying cowardice. He insisted that power is not given but grabbed. Kalonzo gave a reference to a bible verse of Matthew 12:11.

According to the former Vice President, his tribe has long thrown its support behind candidates from other communities, expecting the same in return, regardless of whether they support their own.

Musyoka said there is no such thing like returning the favor when it comes to leadership of the nation.

Addressing former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, who was in the audience but had been notably missing from the protests, Kalonzo said asked her to take part in demonstrations next time.
