Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi reprimanded lawmakers for casting a no vote on the Finance Bill, 2023.

According to Mudavadi, President William Ruto allocated the biggest single amount of funds—nearly Sh600 billion—to education in the budget.

"A cohort of 30,000 teachers has been budgeted for." This is done to minimize the teacher-to-student ratio. This is a huge advancement. Why did you vote against it?" he inquired.

At a Kajiado church service, Mudavadi declared that Ruto's housing plan is not a stand-alone project.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary continued by pointing out that the President's proposal goes beyond housing.

Despite strong resistance, Ruto has supported the Housing Fund concept in the Finance Bill 2023.

Ruto has said that he wants to increase the number of homeowners and encourage more Kenyans to buy instead of rent.

On Wednesday evening, MPs adopted President Ruto's proposed 2023 Finance Bill. To make the proposals into legislation, it will now be sent to the president for his approval.

Despite a contentious disagreement between the ruling party and the opposition over several of the Bill's contents, it was passed.
