Wafula Chebukati, former chairman of Kenya's Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), stated last year's General Election was the freest, fairest, and most credible poll in history.
Chebukati claims that 99.9% of Form 34As were scanned and received within 24 hours of the election day.
"Within 24 hours of the polls closing, 99.9 percent of Presidential result forms were electronically transmitted to the public portal." "The forms, which we call Form 34A, were scanned and contained correct and data of the results aligned to each polling station," Chebukati explained.
This was discovered in a post he uploaded on his social media accounts from his recent presentation at the conference titled "Role of Technology in Improving the Integrity of Kenya's Electoral Process."

Chebukati stated that the electoral body's accomplishment was spread by using technological devices to identify voters and transmit results, which boosted its efficiency and trustworthiness.

Mr Chebukati went on to say that throughout his six-year tenure as chairperson of the electoral board, the 2022 poll vastly differed from prior elections.
Mr Chebukati's presentation focused on the role of technology in the transmission of results during the election, stating that it was timely and lowered tension among Kenyans.
"The paper emphasizes the importance of speed, transparency, and stability in making tally reports public and establishes a standard that can be applied to election practice in other countries in the region," he said.
