Video Of Mohamed Salah pleading for help towards Gaza

Mohamed Salah, a football player for Liverpool and Egypt, begged on Wednesday for an end to "massacres" in the battle between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas and demanded that humanitarian aid be permitted into Gaza.

Following the 1,400-death strikes on Israeli homes and military facilities on October 7 by Hamas militants, Gaza was essentially shut off, leaving residents facing severe shortages.

A Gaza hospital was struck by a lethal rocket strike on Tuesday, which Hamas attributed to Israel.

Israel, however, denied any involvement, asserting that Palestinian terrorists' errant rocket was to blame for the attack.

Salah, 31, a captain for Liverpool and winner of both the Premier League and the Champions League, is one of the most well-liked sportsmen in the Arab world.

"It is not always easy to speak in a time like this. There has been too much violence and too much heartbreak and brutality," Salah said in a video posted to his 62.7 million followers on Instagram.

"The escalations in recent weeks is unbearable to witness. All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop, families are being torn apart."

Following US President Joe Biden's visit to Tel Aviv on Wednesday, Israel said it had granted his request to permit aid to enter the beleaguered Gaza through Egypt. This decision was made in response to growing concerns about diminishing supplies and alerts over a humanitarian crisis.

"What is clear now is that humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed immediately. The people there are in terrible conditions," Salah added.

"The scenes at the hospital last night were horrifying. The people of Gaza need food, water, and medical supplies urgently.

"I am calling on world leaders to come together to prevent further slaughter of innocent souls - humanity must prevail."
