According to media reports from September, Mbappe consented to forgo loyalty bonuses of up to 100 million euros ($109.17 million) if he transferred from PSG on a free transfer.
Mbappe waited until May of 2022, a few weeks before the transfer window opened, to announce that his contract at PSG would be extended. The 25-year-old hinted that he might not stay up so late the next time.
"I think it was the end of May in 2022 because I didn't know until May," he added. "If I know what I want to do, why drag it out? It just doesn't make sense."
