President William Ruto has directed construction of a 3-bedroom house for the family of the late marathoner Kelvin Kiptum before his scheduled burial on February 24th next week. Sports reporter Mike Okinyi from Citizen TV has reported that emissaries were dispatched to Kiptum's residence to oversee the necessary arrangements.
Accompanied by engineers assigned to oversee the construction, the emissaries visited Kiptum's residence. The President expressed his desire to be inside the completed house before Kiptum's heroic send-off. The engineers assured that the construction would be finished within 7 days, and Kiptum's family has already indicated the location where the house will be built.
''We had very special guests today visiting Kiptum’s family and they were sent by Dr. William Ruto because they want to put in a house for him, they want to build a house for Kelvin Kiptum’s family and that’s a 3-bedroomed house that has to be ready before he is buried on the 24th. The engineers were on site today. The President says he wants to be in that house before this guy is sent off as a hero,'' said Mike Okinyi in a televised report.
Kiptum passed away this past Sunday following a tragic road accident involving his car.
