Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Chief Executive Officer Barry Otieno has resigned from his position after serving in the capacity for five years.
Otieno began his career as the federation's communication manager from 2016 until 2017. He progressed to head of communication and marketing between 2017 and 2019 before taking over the CEO’s position from Robert Muthomi.
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the football stakeholders who have supported me throughout my tenure. To the FKF President: Thank you for your unwavering support and guidance. Your vision for Kenyan football has been inspirational, and it has been a privilege to work alongside you in realizing those goals.’’
‘’To the FKF Delegates, your commitment to the growth and development of football in Kenya has been commendable. Thank you for your trust and collaboration in implementing crucial initiatives for the sport,” he added.
As a result, FKF has appointed Parick Korir, a long-term football administrator, as interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately.

“Patrick brings a wealth of experience in Kenyan football, having served as a journalist, football coordinator, and most recently, as CEO of Nairobi City Stars. His in-depth understanding of the sport, coupled with his management expertise, ensures that he will quickly integrate into his new role, allowing for minimal disruption to FKF's operations," the federation said in a statement.
"The FKF remains committed to its mission of growing football at all levels and assures its stakeholders that all scheduled activities and programs will proceed as planned. We believe that Patrick Korir will play a pivotal role in this transition and will help steer the Federation toward greater success."
Before his appointment at FKF, Korir served in the same capacity at Kenyan Premier League Club, Nairobi City Stars.
