Harvey Elliott's exquisite goal gave struggling Liverpool a 1-0 victory against Wolves in Tuesday's FA Cup third-round replay, and Jurgen Klopp said he received the response.

After losing their most recent two Premier League games in dismal ways at Brighton and Brentford, Klopp's team received harsh criticism.

However, Elliott's outstanding long-range goal in the opening period at Molineux gave the team their much-needed first triumph in four games across all competitions.

Ironically, Liverpool will have to travel back to Brighton in the fourth round after defeating Wolves.

The Reds are in ninth place, the top four in the Premier League, by 10 points following their embarrassing 3-0 loss at Brighton on Saturday.

"The last time we felt like we were winning and playing well, Klopp added, "it feels like ages ago."
"We had fun. It was outstanding.
It took an only passion for stopping the shots in the first half and the finale. The lads responded in the way we wanted to see from ourselves.

"The goal was outstanding. While I don't want to diminish Harvey's effort, I did have a few men of the match tonight even though the others were scoreless."

Following that humiliation, Klopp stated his struggling team needed to "go back to fundamentals" after doing some soul-searching.

This week, amid growing concerns over Klopp's future at Anfield, the German manager asserted that he would not quit the organization unless forced to and suggested that his squad may alter in the upcoming summer.

Only Ibrahima Konate, Thiago Alcantara, and Cody Gakpo kept their spots as Klopp made eight changes following the Brighton disaster due to injuries to several crucial players, including Virgil van Dijk and Luis Diaz.

Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah were among those left out, but Liverpool's backup players were up to the task.

Wolves drew 2-2 at Anfield to force a replay, but Julen Lopetegui's team was incensed when Toti's potential game-winning goal was never to count for offside in the dying moments.

Despite a spirited start in which Adama Traore's cross was headed narrowly wide by Raul Jimenez, they could not capitalize on their opportunity to get revenge for that injustice.

In the 13th minute, Eliott produced the game's first goal magnificently.

This season, Klopp's midfield is as old and past its prime.

However, the 19-year-old Elliott offers optimism for the future. He demonstrated this by sprinting unopposed from the halfway line and then launching an excellent shot over Jose Sa from 25 yards.
