Ferguson, who led Manchester United to 13 championships before his retirement in 2013, is the most successful manager in the competition's history.

Between 1996 and 2018, Wenger won the league thrice with Arsenal, including the 2003–04 season when they went undefeated.

Throughout their management careers, the two remained in a constant on-field rivalry.

When you get acknowledgement like this, it's an honour, Ferguson stated in a press statement.

"So it's not just about me personally. I'm also proud of the team, the staff, and my players because it's about my work at Manchester United and the relationship we have shared for many years".

Since the Premier League's start in 1992, individuals who have demonstrated outstanding success and made a significant contribution are recognized and honoured in the Hall of Fame.

Ferguson holds the all-time Premier League record with 528 victories from 810 games and 1,752 total points.

The 81-year-old Scotsman won manager of the month honours 27 times and was chosen manager of the season 11 times.

Wenger, a Frenchman, oversaw 828 Premier League games, winning 476 and losing 199.

In 1998, 2002, and 2004, the 73-year-old was chosen as the season's best manager.

"It is a huge honor for me to share this with Sir Alex", he remarked.

"You fight ferociously and endure the distance with your partner, much like two boxers. You are respected, and seeing him would be a terrific chance to reminisce about past conflicts over a fine bottle of wine".

"I want to be recognized as a person who loved Arsenal, respected the club's principles, and left it in a position where it can develop and grow even more," said the former player.
