A poll released by TIFA on Wednesday revealed that Azimio la Umoja Coalition supporters are more likely to go to bed hungry than their Kenya Kwanza peers.
A survey by TIFA performed between March 11 and March 19, 2023, shows that 17% of Kenyan households frequently go to bed hungry, 29% occasionally do so, and 51% never do.
According to their political affiliation, 20% of Azimio backers said they frequently or consistently go to bed hungry, while 14% of Kenya Kwanza followers admitted to doing the same.
The survey also revealed that 33% of Azimio fans have occasionally gone to bed hungry, compared to 26% of Kenya Kwanza followers.

44% of Azimio's supporters indicated they had never gone to bed hungry, compared to 56% of Kenya Kwanza supporters. 3% of Kenyans knew whether they had gone to bed hungry.
In contrast, 26% of Kenyans who are not members of any political party report sleeping hungry only occasionally, 20% report doing it frequently, and 49% have never experienced it. Among this group, 4% were curious if they had gone to bed on an empty stomach.
One in five Kenyans claimed they frequently go to bed hungry in the study.
The survey also found that 48% of Azimio and Kenya Kwanza supporters are very concerned about the high cost of leaving.
However, TIFA cautions that it is still too early to anticipate how well the government will be able to handle Kenyans' problems, particularly given that so many of the variables that influence policy still need to be improved.
