In Serie A on Sunday, goals from Edoardo Bove, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Tammy Abraham gave third-placed AS Roma a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Udinese.

With 56 points after 30 games, Roma is presently five points behind Lazio in second place and three points ahead of AC Milan in fourth.

Bove scored the game's first goal in the 37th minute after Bryan Cristante's penalty for a handball by Roberto Pereyra bounced against the post.

After being skillfully set up inside the area by striker Andrea Belotti, captain Pellegrini increased Roma's advantage with a crisp shot into the upper left corner.

Gianluca Mancini's handball resulted in a penalty kick for Udinese, but goalkeeper Rui Patricio dove full-length to stop Pereyra's attempt in the 69th minute.

Abraham, a Roma substitute player, struck the winning header. Udinese, who were without their leading scorer for the season, Beto, due to the flu, competed with Roma for possession but lacked attacking vigour and failed to pose any significant threats to Patricio's goal.

When they host Feyenoord in the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal on Thursday and then travel to Atalanta in Serie A on April 24, Jose Mourinho's Roma team will try to rally after falling behind 1-0.

With 39 points, Udinese is in 12th place and will host Cremonese on Sunday.
