Real Madrid has set their sights on Harry Kane as their top priority to replace Karim Benzema, who recently departed the club after 14 years. Kane, currently 29 years old, has only one year remaining on his contract with Tottenham and is yet to decide on his future. Real Madrid is in need of a new striker, and Kane's impressive skills and experience have made him a prime target.

In addition to Kane, Real Madrid has also identified other potential candidates to bolster their attacking options. Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez, Chelsea's Kai Havertz, and Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic are among the players on their list of targets. The Spanish giants are actively exploring these options as they seek to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.


But Kane, England's all-time leading scorer, is well admired by 14-time European winners Real, who are hoping the departure of a number of their high-earning players this summer will aid their bid.


This summer's departures of Benzema, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, and Mariano Diaz increase Madrid's spending on transfers and salaries by 77 million euros (£66 million).


English midfielder Jude Bellingham, a former player for Birmingham City, is still in talks with Real about a transfer.




But Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, wants to keep Kane at his old club and is reportedly asking for more than £100 million, a sum Real would be hesitant to pay.


Kane is 47 goals short of Alan Shearer's Premier League goalscoring record of 260 with 280 goals in 435 appearances for Spurs.


When he attempted to arrange a transfer to Manchester City two summers ago, they managed to cling onto him at the time.



However, Kane's future in North London is uncertain because Spurs won't be able to qualify for the Champions League next year, and he hasn't yet won a significant prize. Real will be hoping that Kane's ambition for major titles will entice him to transfer to Spain.


Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Celtic, will begin negotiations with Tottenham in the coming days. Tottenham is still without a manager following a poor season that finished with Ryan Mason serving as the interim manager.


The 35-year-old Benzema, who won the Ballon d'Or and joined the Spanish powerhouses from Lyon in 2009, leaves Real on a free transfer after winning five Champions Leagues and four La Liga championships with Madrid.
