West Ham's pursuit of Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has come to a halt due to uncertainties about his eagerness to join the team.

A £30m deal was agreed on 9 August.
Even though it had been assumed that Maguire was willing to come to the London Stadium, the Hammers have not heard from him on when the deal can be finalized.

Maguire struggled for first-team opportunities last season and was stripped of the captaincy this season.
The England international was on the bench for United’s 1-0 win over Wolves on Monday but did not get on even though manager Erik ten Hag used five substitutes and replaced central defender Lisandro Martinez with Victor Lindelof at half-time.
Maguire, 30, would be better off leaving United if he is not self-assured enough to compete for a role in the first squad, according to Ten Hag before that game.
The agreement with West Ham may be renegotiated, but for now it is viewed as blocked, and manager David Moyes is considering other options.
