On Saturday, Rayton Okwiri defeated Chikonda Makawa by a majority decision to become the World Alliance Boxing Association (WABA) Supreme Africa middleweight champion.
As Okwiri found an explosive finish to cap off a commanding performance under the lights at the Nyayo Gymnasium, the Malawian Makawa finished the tenth and final round of the fight backed up on the ropes.
The remarkable Okwiri won her ninth match in a row with scores of 100-90, 100-90, and 100-90 from the three judges, while Makawa (15-17-1) suffered her 17th loss in a row.
A six-event "Fight Night" with five non-title fights was organized by the organizers, Finix, and featured Daniel Wanyonyi, who defeated Tanzanian opponent Kaminja Ramadhan in one minute and forty seconds.

Okwiri was being watched by Kenyan boxing legend Fatuma Zarika, who assisted him in energizing the crowd during a drawn-out ring walk.
The 37-year-old made a dramatic debut flanked by a sizable entourage decked out in battle attire, sporting a flashy Halloween mask and an orange robe laced with gold.
Both combatants struggled to establish any form of early domination in the cagey first round.
During the second round, Okwiri, who was moving well, proved to be a challenging target to hit and began to make inroads against Makawa, who could take strokes quite well.
A few right hands, albeit not with full force, were also successful for the Malawiana in the later rounds after she had earlier struggled to land that punch against the evasive Kenyan.
However, Okwiri continued to make more contact in the seventh round, where his flurry boosted the volume of the home crowd.
When the 10th and final bell rang, Okwiri made an apparent victory sign by kissing his fist and pointing upward, which the judges later verified.
