According to an official, Ukraine's grain production decreased from 108 million tonnes a year earlier to 65 million tonnes in the most recent crop season.

Dmytrasevych Markiya, the deputy minister for agriculture policy in Ukraine, has issued a warning that due to the shortage that has been occurring in the nation of Eastern Europe as a result of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, prices will continue to be high.

At the height of the conflict between the two countries last year, the Black Sea corridor—a crucial conduit for grain to reach the global market—was closed, cutting short the supply of grain and driving up global wheat prices to a high of $540.
