The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) plans to buy body cameras to look out for employees taking bribes.
According to a statement by KRA, the taxman will buy a total of 30 body cameras.
The authority said that those employees working in customs and border control and the domestic tax department will commence wearing body cameras in the fight against corruption in June 2022.
Several KRA employees have been on the spot for allowing cargo owners to evade taxes at border points.
In a tender notice, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) confirmed receiving financing towards the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project(HOAGDP) from the World Bank.

The taxman said it intends to use the funds towards pay for the supply and delivery of assorted enforcement and communication equipment.
"The funds will also buy a ruggedized laptop (5), satellite phones (10), and a portable hand-held scanner (2)," read the notice.
Further, the taxman announced an invitation of bids eligible for supplying and delivering Asson Enforcement and Communication Equipment.
