China square has announced the closure of its premises on Monday ahead of the Azimio La Umoja Coalition protests announced by Raila Odinga
In a statement by the Retailer on its Facebook page to its customers, it said they are closing for safety precautions.
"We are taking one day off on 20th March 2023 for safety precautions", read part of the statement.
However, the management said they would resume business on the 21st of March.
This comes after Azimio La Umoja Leader Raila Odinga declared Monday, March 20 a public holiday to allow Kenyans to participate in the planned protests.

He spoke while addressing his followers in Siaya County urging Kenyans to participate in the planned nationwide mass movement to pressure the government to reduce living expenses.
He predicted that the protests would be peaceful and advised participants to behave in a civilized way. Saying protests are the only alternative left.
"We declare that March 20 shall be a holiday in the name of Azimio One Kenya Alliance. The former premier announced in response to a request from Martha Karua, leader of the Narc Kenya Party, that all employed supporters of Azimio may participate in the demonstrations", he said.
Among the reasons the coalition is taking it to the streets is to protest against the elimination of subsidies on petrol, the cost of power, unga, and school fees, claiming that president ruto has gone on to impose ever more taxes on basic goods, resulting in all-time high prices.
