The Kenya Electricity Generating Company(Kengen) has been looking for a new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for three years.

This follows Rebecca Miano’s exit in October last year after she was appointed Cabinet Secretary for East African Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands, and Regional Development.

Abraham Serem has been serving in the role in an acting capacity following her exit.

According to an advertisement published in the local dailies, the power producer has invited applications from suitable candidates to fill the position to drive its development and long-term success.

“Reporting to the Board of directors, the job holder will be responsible for providing strategic and visionary leadership and full operational responsibility in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic business plans approved by the board in order to achieve the company’s mandate,” the advert read.

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, being a member of a professional body and having at least 15 years of experience in a large organization with five years at the executive management level are some of the requirements for successful candidates.

Candidates suitable for the role have been asked to submit their applications before May 15 by 5 pm to the Office of the Board Chairman on the 10th floor of Kengen Pension Plaza II or to email the address [email protected].
