TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya has opened its first service station in Embu town to grow its market in the Central Kenya region.

The new station brings the country's total number of service stations to 237.

TotalEnergies Kenya Finance Director Lawrencia Gichatha noted that the entry into the region responded to increased customer demand.

Speaking during the launch, Gichatha said that the company is eyeing the growing segment of private and public sector institutions and public transport, driven by devolution and the vibrant economic activity in Embu and adjacent counties.

The new service station is equipped with solar panels as part of the company’s sustainability strategy, which includes the distribution of solar power products through its nationwide network.

“We now have about 146 of our service stations fully solarized and will continue to implement the same across the country”, he said.

With its solar energy products, TotalEnergies is also concentrating on the market for renewable energy.

As part of its strategic focus on electric-powered cars, it has introduced charging stations for electric motorcycles in collaboration with Ampersand and Roam motorcycle manufacturers since last year.
