Nairobi will host the African Union’s (AU’s) High-Level Private Sector Forum meeting from July 10th to 12th at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) to boost trade on the continent.
The AU Commission organizes the three-day event in collaboration with the East African Community Secretariat.
The meeting theme, ‘Public – Private Sector Engagement for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development while Deepening Regional and Continental Trade and Investment towards Implementation of AfCFTA,’ is expected to draw more than 500 participants from Africa and beyond.
High-level public policy decision-makers, private sector actors, financial institutions, representatives of women- and youth-led/owned creative start-ups, academic institutions, and research organisations will all be represented among the participants.
At the KICC, about 100 exhibitors from Africa and other continents are anticipated to display their goods.
The 14th High-Level Forum's overarching goal is to improve the connections between continental and regional markets to promote more trade and investment.
Rebecca Miano, Cabinet Secretary for East African and Semi-Arid Lands of Kenya, will attend the occasion.
The other dignitaries attending will be the African Union's Commissioner for Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals, Albert Muchanga, and the Secretary General of the East African Community (EAC), Peter Mutuku Mathuku.
