Kirinyaga County police officers have initiated a probe into the murder of a Kirinyaga University student by unidentified individuals.
According to Mwea East sub-county Police Commander James Mutua, the fourth-year student was attacked at 9 p.m. by unknown people at the Kutus trading center.
"The deceased was accompanied by his two fellow students who raised alarm after he collapsed as he started bleeding on the thigh following the attack," a statement from Mr. Mutua stated.
The police chief stated that they are following up on several leads in the death of the university student.

"We have informed his relatives and right now we are waiting for postmortem," Mr. Mutua said in a statement.
