William Ruto's government has come under fire from former president Uhuru Kenyatta for continually placing the blame on him when they are unable to carry out their agenda.

While calling on members of Mwingi Full Gospel Church to desist from negative politics, Uhuru chastised his successor for holding him accountable for the failure of his government and the weak state of the economy.

"I don't want to talk about much. not out of fear butI got over my phobia. We've received a lot of information and threats. Whenever someone fails, they always say, "Oh!" Former administration, Uhuru said.

“Tomorrow when women fail to give birth they will say ‘you know Uhuru did it’. I don’t know, but I am used to it,” he added.

The Kenya Kwanza administration has frequently placed the blame for Kenya's present economic woes on Uhuru's administration, claiming that the former president's failure is to blame for the country's high cost of living.

Both Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, have stated unequivocally that the nation's economic catastrophe was caused by Uhuru's excessive borrowing and subsidies.

''We were in a situation where we were deep in debts and did not have a progr amme to get us out of the mess... We have made sure that we have stopped borrowing, left, centre and right,'' Ruto said at Sagana State Lodge on August 6, 2023.

Gachagua and Kipchumba Murkomen, the cabinet secretary for transportation, recently laid the blame for the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport's (JKIA) infrastructural problems at the feet of Uhuru's administration.

The airport's roof was observed to be leaking, and frequent power outages are attributed by Kenya Kwanza on poor initiatives carried out by the Jubilee government.
