A sitting Member of the County Assembly (MCA) from Isiolo is one of two people arrested for possessing 57 bhang stones.

The two suspected drug traffickers have been identified as Chari Ward MCA Abdillahi Golicha Meja, 27, and his accomplice Nura Abdi Diba, 25.

According to DCI detectives, the two were apprehended on the outskirts of Isiolo Town by officers from the Transnational Organized Crimes Unit working with a multi-agency team.


The two were stopped while driving a Toyota Land Cruiser with the license plate KDG 034G before heading to Nura Abdi Diba's house at Kambi Garba Estate on the outskirts of Isiolo.

Six gunny bags containing 57 bhang stones were discovered in the house, according to police.

According to the authorities, the exhibits have since been taken to DCI headquarters for further processing as an investigation into the matter is underway.
