Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan has dissolved the entire board of Tanzania Electricity Supply Company (Tanesco), over frequent power outages.
The outages result from power rationing in Tanzania due to reduced water levels in dams and continued repair to power lines that have resulted in a 400-megawatt shortfall.
Among those redeployed is Tanesco board chair Major General Paul Kisesa Simuli, who has been sent abroad as Tanzania's ambassador to Uganda.
Dr. Rhimo Nyanzaho, the director of business at Azania bank, has been appointed to replace Simuli.
This comes shortly after Kenya has recently experienced countrywide power outages.
