On Sunday, an armed group attacked a Kenyan lawyer on the Isiolo-Modogashe Road, resulting in serious gunshot wounds.

Mr. Anthony Gathitu Kabathi, a lawyer with Kabuthi and Company Advocates, was attacked approximately five kilometers from a GSU camp while he was returning to Nairobi from a client meeting in Garissa, according to a police report that describes the attack.

The lawyer was severely shot in the ambush, receiving gunshot wounds to his chest, left hand, thumb, and left side abdomen, according to GSU officers responding to a public distress call.

The lawyer was taken to Isiolo Galaxy Hospital in stable condition after the officers, wearing a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, searched the area and gave him immediate first aid, according to the police report.

In the interim, his Toyota Landcruiser was given to the Isiolo Police Station, which is looking into the incident.
