Samuel Brian Yongo Otumba, a businessman, has been detained for five days to allow police to wrap up their investigation into a case of cyber harassment.

Yongo was charged with cyber harassment on Monday and was arraigned before Magistrate Dolphina Alego.

The court ordered his five-day detention at the Parklands Police Station.

Furthermore, Rajendra Shanghani, the Managing Director of Granada Trading Company Limited, is the complainant. Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Alego instructed police to record his statements.

The court was informed that police are investigating a case of computer misuse and cybercrime against Yongo. They also mentioned that Shanghani had filed a report at Parklands Police Station, alleging that the accused had threatened and harassed him.

According to testimony given in court, Yongo told Shanghani they intended to discredit him because Malongo had assigned him to investigate his finances and handle the situation appropriately.

The investigating officer stated, "Yongo continued to abuse Shanghani, swearing in his mother's name and threatening to teach him a lesson."

It is scheduled to be discussed on Friday, April 26, 2024.
