After a 37-year-old son allegedly killed his father with a knife while demanding the remainder of the money he had gotten from the most recent Inua Jamii financial transfers, gloomy attitudes overtook the Kelengei district in Bomet County.

Joseph arap Oricho, 74, and Leonard Kipngetich had a falling out before the latter confined him in his home and killed him with a panga.

The older man died after bleeding heavily and suffering deep head, neck, and leg wounds.

According to senior assistant chief Paul Bett of the Makimeny site, members of the public who heard Oricho's shrill screams flocked to the area and apprehended the culprit. The deceased made a distress call and begged his son to save him.

Bett stated that the murder weapon was not yet located and that the suspect's clothes and gumboots were stained with blood.

Phanton Analo, the commander of the Chepalungu Sub-county Police, acknowledged the occurrence and reported that the suspect had been detained and was being held at the Bomet Police Station.

The deceased's body was later taken to the Longisa County Referral Hospital mortuary.
