According to authorities, an 18-year-old Miami woman was arrested on Tuesday after attempting to hire a hitman to kill her 3-year-old kid.

According to an affidavit provided by the Miami PD, Jazmin Paez was identified to investigators after filling out a form on a parody hit-for-hire website to "prevent legitimate solicitations from committing murders."

According to investigators, the person who administers the website received a service request to carry out a hit on the designated victim, Paez's kid.

The website's operator contacted the police, who confirmed the accuracy of the information on the page. Authorities apprehended Paez Tuesday night after conducting an investigation.

According to court documents, the 18-year-old has been charged with first-degree solicitation of murder and third-degree unauthorized use of communications equipment.

According to court filings, Paez appeared on Wednesday and has legal representation through the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office.

The affidavit states that Paez used a false name to post the request on the bogus website, requesting that her child be transported far away and "possibly killed" as soon as possible.

According to authorities, she set Thursday as the completion date for the job. They traced Paez down using an IP address and phone number obtained from the bogus website, which led them to the grandmother of the 3-year-old.

According to investigators, the boy was residing with his grandmother then. The grandmother used a picture uploaded on the website to establish the identity of the intended victim and claimed to authorities that the phone number belonged to her daughter.

Before Paez's arrest, a detective contacted the website's phone number and exchanged a series of text conversations, posing as the hired hitman.

According to authorities, the phone number verified the original request and agreed to pay $3,000 for the job.

According to investigators, Paez was arrested and taken in for questioning at the Miami-Dade Investigators Department, where she confessed to putting out the hit.

The mother allegedly claimed to police she was in a love connection with someone who didn't like that she had a son and had split up with Paez because of it.

According to the complaint, Paez believed that by hiring a hitman to kill her son, she would be able to restart their relationship.
